Changes to MSN Money

Simon Ward, senior editor, MSN Money writes:

You might have noticed some changes to MSN Money. We’ve reorganised the site to make it easier for you to use and to highlight more of the great editorial and tools we have on offer.

So what’s changed? Let me explain.

News
We now have dedicated city news and money news pages. City news is for those of you who follow the markets and business, and contains stories from the Press Association and Reuters agencies, as well as the Wall Street Journal. Money news contains stories on the issues affecting all our pockets. We have a dedicated section for the Budget and our UK economy and world economy sections have been expanded.

We have also added new sections on crime, encompassing everything from ID theft to fraud, funny money (including the likes of crazy cash machines and bad money-making ideas), celebrity money, rich lists and the increasingly fascinating (or shocking, depending on your viewpoint) role of money in sport.

Money Guides
If you’re looking for expert information on anything from credit cards to savings accounts to cash ISAs to managing debt, our Money Guides section is the place to go. Our guides will take you step-by-step through how different products work and how you can find the right one for you. Plus we have the latest product reviews and articles on how to get the most of your credit card, mortgage, loan, etc.

MSN Compare
Our brand new price comparison service MSN Compare allows you to compare everything from credit cards to savings accounts to mortgages to insurance. Look out for some exciting developments here in the coming weeks.

Your Financial Life
The Your Financial Life section looks at the role money plays in all of our everyday lives, from the world of work to the bills we pay, to the more enjoyable aspects of life, such as going out, shopping and going on holiday. Our experts will show you how you can make and save money in every area of your life.

Tools & Calculators
From currency to loans, mortgages to tax, our tools and calculators tell you what your money’s worth and help you make the important decisions about your money.

Investing
Our Investing section (previously Markets) has had an overhaul to highlight more of the great tools we have on offer to help you make your investment decisions. Our Funds section now lives here.

Property
Whether you’re looking to rent or buy a new home, or want some more information on schools, crime or transport in a particular area, MSN Local should be your first port of call. Our bills section has moved from Property to Your Financial Life.

Community
Here you’ll find blogs from our Consumer Champion Sarah Modlock and our frugal expert Piper Terrett, plus the MSN Money team’s latest blogs on the world of money. You’ll also find our messageboards and how to stay in touch with us via Twitter and Facebook.

Let us know what you think
We’d love to know what you think of the changes we’ve made. If you have any comments, please drop us a line at msnmoney@live.co.uk

  1. I just found this website yesterday, but this seems like a great website/blog with a great deal of information. I really like the currency calculators. I think that tools and calculators are very handy to someone who is just researching things such as a potential mortgage calculator. I also really like property tool because it shows you things around the area that you are thinking about buying in, for example crime rates and local schools.
